My thought for the day. I've got a teacher who loves idioms, and who uses them in class frequently. Most are good idioms, but this is my favorite so far. Just wanted to share!

My HeroesMy greatest heroes are the soldiers. My battle buddies, my superiors, and my subordinates. Whether they're safe at home or overseas, filing papers, or risking their lives every day. Whether they've been in the army one day or twenty years, from PVT to GEN, Whether they wear a red beret, or a green one, a tan, or just plain black. Whether they carry an M16 or an IV, or they work with a computer or a pencil. Those who give the orders, and those who carry them out, and sometimes the line between them is so blurred that you don't know who is whom. They may have been to battle, or just graduated basic training, traveled to many places, or just lefMy Heroes


The DancerThe day was bland, the horizon clear, the sun shining, and upon the hard-packed dirt road, far distant, rode a single rider. As the rider approached, one could see that she was maid, dressed in colorful garments and riding upon a sturdy mare with. The woman didn't look poor, but neither did she look rich, though beautiful she certainly was. Her dark curls hung past her shoulders, the top half of her thick, unruly hair tied back neatly to keep it out of her face, though a few curls had strayed loose to dance upon her forehead and frame her lovely cheeks as she rode. Her eyes were the color of the spring grass, and her skin, tanned fThe Dancer

Temptation:Battle of the HeartThomas checked the straps on his silver armor to make certain that it would stay in place. He picked up the waiting helm from the dirt floor of the arena and dusted it off before putting it over his head. Though the visor was incredibly thin, and by all rights should have blinded him, he could see just fine. He picked up the rectangular shield leaning against his leg and slipped his right arm through the firm leather straps. For the final touch, he drew the untarnished shortsword from its scabbard.
