You cannot straighten the shadow as long as the stick is bent.

My thought for the day. I've got a teacher who loves idioms, and who uses them in class frequently. Most are good idioms, but this is my favorite so far. Just wanted to share!

New and old

I wrote a new piece, and it's pretty depressing. For the last week, this has been hovering over me, and I will know the outcome no later than Tuesday. If it's bad (which seems more likely, to me), then I shall withdraw, so expect not to hear from me for a while. If it's good then, well, I'll let y'all know, but probably nothing about my activity will change. I just don't have as much time here as I used to.

I'm going to try to write another piece that's less depressing. We'll see how that goes. However, I have changed my favorite deviation on my front page to a different one. This one is one that I needed to reread, and it uplifted me. I hope that those of you who look, and re-read it also feel uplifted.

I have no little-known feature today. Maybe I'll start that up again soon? Meanwhile, I recently discovered another writer on DA that y'all should check out (he's too popular to be a regular feature), :iconspiritualrocket:.

Nifty new nooks

So, I'm really loving this new layout! I think the colors are lighter (might just be the computer I'm using, though), and I love the buttons that make everything easier. And, most things are still about where I expect them to be, which is also nice!

I've been writing and *gasp!* sketching! Yes, that's right, I've been sketching. Not well, mind you, but I've got at least one willing model now, so I can work on my anatomy a little more. But the writing is the big thing that makes me happy. I hope you've all taken a peek at my latest pieces. I'm not sure if I should continue them or not. Any suggestions?

Anyway, library's about to close, so here's your feature for today:

This guy has some really cool fractal and abstract works. Really, you should check them out!

Writers reading random writs

No, really. I was looking around for inspiration to write, and I stumbled across something to read, instead. And I loved it! So, now I have to share. Yay for another feature (finally)!

I'm finally caught up with all of my deviantWatches, so there's a fair possibility of more comments from me in the future. Whoo!

Also, I have this incredible urge to write. Anything. It's driving me absolutely bonkers. I have some pretty good inspiration, but so far nothing has come of it, except that one piece about the house. Incidentally, the woman in the piece is a possible future version of me. Too bad I hate writing from my own perspective, ehy? Well...it's a possibility that I will do so more in the future. I have been trying. And failing miserably at it. But at least I'm trying. The source of my recent inspiration has been urging me to write from my own perspective, which is amazingly hard for me to do. It may surprise y'all, but while I often cast myself as a character (or base a character off me), I rarely cast myself as the narrator, or give the reader any real insights into what that character is thinking.

On a completely random side note, one reason that I'm avoiding hyphenated words right now (or skipping the hyphens altogether) is because somebody screwed with the settings for this keyboard, and I have no idea how to type in the hyphenations anymore. The hyphen key is now an apostrophe, and the apostrophe is this funny thing { (Is that called a bracket?).

Well, here's my feature for today!

Her works are quite interesting to read, and I enjoyed looking through them quite thoroughly. She's also a very good sketch artist, so take a peek at her sketches, as well! That's all I have to say for now, so shoo!

Story!!

I posted something new yesterday. I have to admit, it was fun to write it! I had been looking at my stuff here, catching up (again), and I stumbled across a story that was an entry for a contest based on a photo. So, I had a look at the photo, and bam! I was inspired to write about it. I don't think I quite followed the parameters of the contest, but I'm glad I wrote it.

Class is still overwhelming, of course. I doubt it'll get any easier as time passes. Sigh. I do love it, though. Some of my teachers are amazingly cool.

Nothing else to report, really. All of my writing abilities are focused on class, for the most part. ^^;

Fair winds, my friends,
Anderon
